Together, these two treatments provide season-long protection and begin reducing grub populations cumulatively over time. Customers who complete both applications each year typically see the greatest results by year two or three of the program.
Spring Application — Round One
Our spring round targets third-instar grubs that survived winter in the soil. These older, larger grubs are harder to control with many products — but our professional-grade treatment is effective against them. Applying in spring also helps reduce the number of adult beetles that emerge and lay eggs later in the season, breaking the cycle before it starts. Early-season root protection keeps your lawn growing strong through the heat of summer. We time this application carefully based on regional soil temperatures and pest activity, ensuring maximum effectiveness when grubs are most vulnerable.
Late Summer Application — Round Two
Newly hatched grubs appear in late summer, usually in August. Treating at this stage gives the product time to move into the root zone, where it remains active through fall. Without this application, a new crop of grubs goes untreated and can cause significant turf damage as temperatures cool and they feed aggressively before going dormant.

What Grub Control Does — and Doesn't — Cover
Our grub control program is specifically designed to target white grub larvae beneath the soil surface. It does not cover surface-feeding insects like chinch bugs or armyworms, adult beetles, turf diseases, or non-turf areas such as planting beds. If moles, skunks, or raccoons have been digging in your yard, reducing grub populations often reduces that animal activity — but this is not guaranteed. Animal damage to turf is not covered under this program. If you are dealing with other pest or turf issues alongside grubs, ask us about additional services. After the treated area has dried — typically one to four hours — it is safe for children and pets to re-enter the lawn. To activate the product and move it into the root zone, water your lawn with at least half an inch of water within 24 hours of application. Because it is a granular product, there are no mowing restrictions after treatment. Following these simple steps ensures the product works as intended while keeping your household safe.
