Stinging Insect Control Program
Expert Removal of Hornets and Yellow Jackets
When stinging insects build nests near your home or business, they create a serious safety hazard for your family, pets, and visitors. Our Stinging Insect Control Program targets the most aggressive species, including hornets, bald-faced hornets, and yellow jackets. These insects can attack in large numbers when disturbed, making professional removal the safest choice. Our trained technicians have the proper equipment and EPA-registered treatments to eliminate active nests safely and effectively. We assess each situation carefully before any treatment begins to ensure the right approach for your specific pest problem. Do not attempt to remove a nest on your own — let our team handle it safely.
Which Species Does This Program Cover?
Our program focuses on hornets, bald-faced hornets, and yellow jackets — the stinging insects most likely to threaten your safety. Hornets build large paper-like nests in trees, eaves, and shrubs. Bald-faced hornets are especially aggressive and create distinctive gray papery nests. Yellow jackets are known for nesting in the ground, wall voids, and structural areas, making them particularly hard to control. It is important to note that our program does not treat honey bees or other protected pollinators. If you have a honey bee colony, we will help connect you with a local beekeeper for safe relocation. Identifying the right species is the first step toward an effective solution.
How Our Treatment Process Works
Our technicians begin every service with a thorough inspection to identify the species and locate all nest activity. Proper species identification is critical because different insects require different treatment strategies. Once the inspection is complete, we apply targeted treatments using EPA-registered insecticides directly to the nest. We take all necessary safety measures to protect you, your family, and our team throughout the process. Most treatments are completed in 30 to 60 minutes, though complex situations involving wall voids or difficult access points may take 90 minutes or more. We will never begin treatment without first reviewing the situation with you and receiving your approval.

Best Timing for Safe and Effective Treatment
Timing plays an important role in stinging insect control. Our technicians prefer to treat nests in the early morning or late evening when insects are least active and most of the colony is inside the nest. This leads to more complete treatment results. We also follow strict weather guidelines to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Treatment will not be performed when winds exceed 15 miles per hour sustained or 20 miles per hour in gusts, when temperatures are below 45 degrees or above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, or when rain is active or expected within two hours. Thunderstorms and lightning are also grounds for rescheduling at no charge to you.
How to Prepare Your Property for Service
A little preparation before your scheduled service helps everything go smoothly and safely. Please ensure there is a clear access path to the nest area so our technician can work without obstruction. Secure all pets indoors before we arrive, and plan for all occupants to stay inside during treatment. If the nest is located behind a gate or locked door, please make sure access is provided before the appointment. Your cooperation is an important part of getting the job done right the first time. Once treatment is complete, we recommend staying out of the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the products to work fully and to minimize any unnecessary exposure.

No Surprises — We Review the Price Before We Start
We believe you should always know the exact cost before any work begins. Pricing is determined either through customer-submitted photos or an on-site assessment completed prior to treatment. Our technician will explain the recommended approach and confirm the price before starting. We will never begin a treatment without your approval. For emergency same-day or next-day service requests, a surcharge of $100 to $200 may apply. If extended equipment or specialized access gear is required, an additional fee of $150 to $300 may be added. Any follow-up treatments needed after the initial service are priced at $100 to $200. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges.
Our Scheduling and Rescheduling Policy
We understand that circumstances sometimes require rescheduling, and we handle it fairly. If our technician arrives and is unable to complete the service due to conditions outside our control, the first failed attempt carries no charge. If a second trip is necessary and service still cannot be completed, a $75 trip charge applies. Weather-related cancellations are always handled at no cost to you — if unsafe conditions require us to reschedule, there is no fee. We work hard to communicate proactively about scheduling so you are never caught off guard. Our goal is to resolve your stinging insect problem as quickly and smoothly as possible for your convenience.
When to Expect Service in Your Area
Our peak season for stinging insect control runs from May through September, when colony sizes are largest and nest activity is at its highest. Scheduling early when you first spot a nest is always the smartest approach. For emergency situations where a nest poses an immediate danger, we offer same-day or next-day scheduling whenever possible. Standard service requests are typically fulfilled within one to three business days. Early in the season, response times tend to be faster, while summer months can bring higher demand. Contact us as soon as you discover a nest to get the fastest possible response and avoid the risk of a larger, more aggressive colony developing near your home.
